Ang Himagsik is a theatrical dance play based on scenes of Florante at Laura by Francisco Balagtas. The original title, "Florante and Laura", is found from the Spanish word “plorar” which means “to cry out” because of the sadness that the author felt during the Spanish colonization which led to a revolution against the government, religious malpractice which identifies Moro (Muslims) as a deceptive, oppressed, and despicable mistake of god.
